This unit consists of six modules:<br/><br/>Module 1—sleep staging:<br/>(a) determine all stages of non-REM and REM sleep and wakefulness using voltage, frequency and amplitude characteristics of the EEG, EOG and EMG;<br/>(b) apply criteria for determining arousals and differentiate artefact from expected signal; and<br/>(c) be familiar with the different criteria used to score sleep.<br/><br/>Module 2—respiratory scoring:<br/>(a) apply established criteria in order to define respiratory events as being an apnea (mixed, central, obstructive), hypopnea, RERA, snoring, or Cheyne-Stokes respiration;<br/>(b) be familiar with the different criteria for diagnosing sleep apnea; and<br/>(c)... -- Course Website
