Students' knowledge and skills in microbiology, epidemiology, veterinary medicine, pathology, livestock production and welfare are applied to human health and environmental protection. The course provides a basic understanding of zoonotic diseases and food security that can be built upon by both the practising clinical veterinarian and for those intending to develop a career in veterinary public health.
