This course will focus on communication, medico-legal & team management issues in working with clients with intellectual disability & mental health problems. It addresses the provision of augmentative & alternative communication in clients with severe communication disorders. A psychosocial model of disability will underlie the content with the needs of individuals, families, caregivers, & whole team management considered. Students will gain a better understanding of the therapeutic process & an increased understanding of counselling clients with communication disorders. -- Course Website
