In this course students learn how to critically evaluate empirical journal articles in psychology in terms of the appropriateness of the methods and the soundness of the conclusions. The major topics are the nature of psychological research over the domains of the discipline, the design and conduct of research studies, factors affecting the validity of causal inferences drawn from empirical relationships and finally, techniques to enhance the interpretability of results, and the sensitivity, construct validity and generality of research studies. -- Course Website
