The course is designed as an introductory overview of approaches to social science research. Through a combination of lectures and seminars, it will introduce some of the central questions of ontology, epistemology, and methodology in political science. It will provide a forum for discussion and reflection on different research methodologies as well as opportunities to develop practical knowledge necessary to understand and undertake the most common forms of data collection and analysis used in political science research.
