Students explore major themes in moral and political philosophy. The course aims to consolidate and integrate previous learning, concentrating in particular on issues and current controversies in bioethics. You will have the opportunity to discover why current and future developments in science, biology and healthcare generate moral difficulties, and then you will explore how to connect those difficulties with patterns of philosophical reflection and reasoning. A range of issues that involve ethical decision-making in a social and public policy context will be considered. Offered by classroom seminars in Semester 1. -- Course Website
