This course introduces midwifery students to the physiological, psychological and social aspects of conception and will establish a basis upon which to build their learning enabling them to steer their thinking to the beginning of the pregnancy journey. To support the process students will also learn about the normal anatomy and physiology and pathophysiology of the cardiovascular and lymphatic systems and about blood and circulation related to mother, embryo and fetus.
