Consistent with the second year of the MBBS program, during which students study the pathological basis of disease and its diagnosis and principles of treatment, this course provides a deeper engagement with the ethical, professional and legal obligations related to the doctor-patient relationship, public health ethics, end-of-life issues, professional regulation and other areas. Problem-solving skills in the context of the clinical consultation necessarily include the ethical and legal aspects of the presenting problem and its management.
