The course examines crime prevention and its relationship to crime policy. Topics include crime prevention through environmental design, situational crime prevention, social prevention, developmental crime prevention, national and international crime prevention policy, the police role in crime prevention, policy implementation and evaluation. Students will be introduced to crime prevention problem solving and data sources relevant to the planning and delivery of crime prevention policy. The prevention of crime in particular settings will also be addressed. -- Course Website
