This unit will engage the history of sculptural practice in relation to the cast object and will look at current exhibitions of contemporary artists that employ casting practices. Students will consider the readymade object, its value, worth and context. The unit will focus on the development of sculptural technologies specific to the cast object. Students will be encouraged to explore various traditional as well as contemporary materials. -- Course Website
