An overview of Aboriginal health, especially in Victoria. The study of Aboriginal health in Australia often focuses on the health of communities in the remote northern and western areas of the continent. Provide an understanding of the historical, socio-economic and cultural contexts of ill-health in the Aboriginal community; more about learning appropriate questions to ask and appropriate ways of asking them, than trying to only provide solutions. Will also introduce participants to the major health issues and provide practical information about the delivery of appropriate health care and the role of Aboriginal community controlled health services.
