The unit will cover the epidemiology and burden of disease of existing and emerging communicable diseases of public health importance in developing countries. The Unit introduces students to a comprehensive evidence based approach to communicable disease control at both the individual and population level, including health promotion, disease prevention and case management. Drawing on practical examples and case studies, students will gain an appreciation of the challenges and approaches to the control of communicable diseases in resource-constrained settings. -- Course Website
