This unit extends the introduction to the practice and theory of metals and jewellery as a means of contemporary creative expression. It adds to the focus on raising awareness of and providing the means to achieve an initial level of competence within the metals and jewellery discipline, while imparting a sound conceptual and technical basis for continuing study in that discipline. The safe handling of materials and equipment is emphasised as an essential part of all studio practice. -- Course Website
