This unit introduces students to the practice and theory of glass as a means of contemporary creative expression. It focuses on the acquisition of skill in a number of techniques, including sandblasting, engraving, glass fusing and slumping and molten glass sand casting. Students will be made aware of contemporary fine art practice and multi-disciplinary approaches which include glass media. Students will engage with the unique visual properties of this medium. -- Course Website
