This unit investigates the changes to communication practices associated with the use of new media which affect all areas and levels of education: P-12, post-secondary, workplace and community settings. By dealing with both conceptual-theoretical and practical issues, the unit considers the range and scope of research in literacy, communication and new media studies in a range of educational contexts. The unit provides opportunities for students to examine critically different approaches to research in literacy, communication and new media studies.
