This unit provides pre-service art teachers with a heightened sense of the connections between the knowledge disciplines which inform visual art curriculum. It enables students to build skills around the development of art historical and art critical knowledge, such as research and unit preparation. The tasks involved in this unit will also enable students to learn about museum activities and the design of museum experiences for secondary school art and design students. The unit provides a rudimentary introduction to art historiography and pedagogical strategies relevant to art history and art criticism that lead students back to studio practice. -- Course Website
