This unit investigates the ethical dimensions of teachers' work. It explores Victorian and national codes of conduct and ethics, and critically examines what constitutes ethical practice in education. Students examine the ethical use of technologies in school environments, and understand the complex ethical obligations and issues that characterise student-teacher and parent-teacher relationships, including the issue of duty of care. Students examine literature that explores ethical understandings for teachers and how this might impact on teaching ethically in primary and secondary schools.
