This unit introduces students to the theoretical bases and principles of second language teaching and learning and the development of bilingualism in current multicultural and multilingual contexts, while also addressing remaining monolingual ones such as those in rural areas. It encourages students to reflect on their own second language learning and to use this to analyse and report on current second language programmes in contexts in which they may teach. -- Course Website
