This unit addresses the range of linguistic and literate demands on young children in contemporary Australia. Within a framework of multiliteracies, students will reconceptualise literacy to encompass systems of symbolic representation such as oral, written, disciplinary, artistic, technological, environmental, emotional and social literacies.
