The major themes of study are levels of body organisation, body support and movement, and cardiovascular physiology. The unit introduces students to the scientific methods of thought; it encourages the critical evaluation of evidence, and promotes an awareness of the changing nature of medical knowledge. Topics include the chemical and cellular basis of human life; integration of body functions and homeostasis; the structure and function of the integumentary system; an introduction to the nervous system and the endocrine system, the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system; the structure and function of the cardiovascular system and the lymphatic system and host-microbe... -- Course Website
