The child and youth care worker cannot treat children alone, they will need an awareness of what other disciplines do and knowledge of a process of referral that will ensure that the child gets the best holistic treatment possible. This unit includes a social network framework that teaches the student to look for possible social support (natural and professional) that can treat the child but also sustain his or her well-being within a community. This unit will already touch on intervention on a community level, although it does not focus on community development. In the parallel unit in this semester more focus is given to individual and group interventions. -- Course Website
