The unit builds on the skills and knowledge developed in first semester in the unit 'Everyday life in sociological perspectives'. Students develop a greater understanding of important areas of sociological research and theoretical endeavour. These may include topics such as: sociology of health and illness, gender, popular culture and mass media; class and social inequality; poverty and social exclusion; population and society; and family. -- Course Website
