Students will develop the skills required to conduct an independent research project and present their findings both orally and in written form. Topics to be covered include critical reading of the social science research literature, research planning, design and execution, research ethics and presentation skills. On completion of this unit, students will have conducted a thoughtful and critical review of the literature in their area of research interest and have acquired the skills and confidence to present their ideas to a professional academic audience. -- Course Website
