This unit is offered in China through the Chinese Incountry program. It introduces students to a number of basic conceptual and practical issues in Chinese translation studies. It is aimed at improving students' intercultural and inter-lingual communication skills through various translation projects and critical readings of a range of different representations of Chinese translation works. The integration of classroom teaching and translation projects will encourage students to apply the basic translation skills they learn from the class to translation practices. Small group discussion encourages students to discuss common conceptual and practical issues of translation among themselves. -- Course Website
