This unit provides a broad overview of Malaysian history, socio-economy, politics and culture for second and third year students in the School of Arts and Social Sciences. It is informed by the approaches of various disciplines in that School. It both analyses the peculiarities of Malaysia's multi-cultural society and emphasises factors promoting national integration. It notes key areas of development and challenge in the economy, the education system, in health and technology and in Malaysia's role in the global community. -- Course Website
