The unit analyses of range of contemporary texts that address issues of postmodernism, discourse, memorialisation and trauma. In particular, the unit explores the relationship between memory and narrative and how the present is connected to the past in inscription. The texts are drawn from a range of traditions (US, French, British, for example) and a range of media (novel, graphic novel and film). -- Course Website
