This unit examines the historical and cultural dimensions of law, law administration and the legal representation of Indigenous peoples in Australia from a critical inter-disciplinary perspective. Topics covered include: the recognition of Indigenous customary law, the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody, mandatory sentencing, intellectual property, heritage protection and the Stolen Generations. -- Course Website
