This unit is the 'part 2' of introductory psychology offered by Psychological Studies (see ATS1840), though it may be taken on its own. It has somewhat of a neurological focus, examining fundamental topics like the nervous system, sensation and perception, intelligence, learning, memory and cognition. There is an emphasis on making these concepts highly accessible by demonstrating their relevance to everyday behaviour. The unit also holds to the goals of psychology as a science: to describe, understand, predict, and influence our own behaviour and that of others.
