This unit consists of two components: An introduction to the theory, principles and techniques of interpreting and an overview of ethical and professional issues; The practice of consecutive interpreting: dialogue interpreting and speech interpreting.Topics to be covered include an overview of the history, of the essential theoretical concepts and of the ethical principles of interpreting; aspects of speaking, listening and non-verbal communication fundamental to consecutive interpreting. -- Course Website
