This unit focuses on the practice of being an interpreter, both the practice of interpreting between English and Auslan, and the professional and ethical practice of interpreters. Students undertake interpreting skills practice in predominantly dialogic/interactive settings. Various interpreting strategies are explored, which interpreters can use to facilitate effective communication management. Students will be expected to apply theoretical knowledge gleaned from TRAN863 to the critical analysis of their interpreting skills and to interpreting decisions made by other interpreters.
