The aim of this unit is to provide students with the opportunity to discuss and practice advanced interpreting skills in the specialised area of the media. Students will analyse the linguistic, cultural and ethical challenges of interpreting in media settings, through video remote interpreting, work for a video relay service or as an interpreter for television or online content. Study involves analysis and discussion of literature in relation to interpreting and other forms of communication support in the media, and practical interpreting and re-speaking exercises involving live role plays of video replay calls or meetings held remotely by video. -- Course Website
