This unit is both theoretical and practical with respect to teaching about narrative therapy. The unit will cover narrative therapy theory and practices including deconstruction of problem saturated stories, externalising conversations, 'thickening' of unique outcomes, remembering conversations, therapeutic file and letter writing, and participating in reflecting teams. There is also a focus on people's positioning on cultural discourses (such as those influenced by race, gender, sexuality, etc) which shape their sense of themselves in the world.
