The aim of this unit is to develop a basic understanding of the diagnosis, theories and current models of the major forms of psychopathology. For each disorder, diagnostic criteria and issues in diagnosis and recognition are discussed. Models to be discussed will be those that are scientifically testable and therefore amenable to examination of their empirical support. The unit also provides an overview of the basic principles of neuropharmacology with particular emphasis on the disorders seen in clinical psychology practice. -- Course Website
