This unit is one of two foundation units for students undertaking studies in policing, intelligence and counter terrorism. The unit introduces students to key concepts in the three major areas of study. The content of this unit focuses on an 'all hazards' approach to identifying prospective threats to national security. The principal focus will be the consideration of the diverse issues that constitute actual and potential threats to the nation's security, and the risk assessment process.
