This is the last of three units, in which students have the opportunity to explore the relationship between health and disease, from both the biological and psychosocial perspective. The pathologies studied in this unit are those of the musculoskeletal, nervous and integumentary systems, as well as those relating to the eye and the ear. Their causes, mechanisms and effects are explored. The links between these disease mechanisms and their clinical manifestations is highlighted. By the completion of this unit, students will have completed their study of the major diseases of the body, and how they manifest in the patient.
