A critical examination of the concept of globalisation from economic, socio-cultural, political and environmental perspectives. Particular attention will be paid to local implications of global change; local and national responses in the fields of economic, social and environmental policy; community responses to globalisation; and implications of globalisation for social and environmental sustainability at the local scale. -- Course Website
