This unit explores the application of geophysical techniques to exploration for minerals. Topics include: potential field, induced polarisation, electromagnetic and radiometric methods. Generally, emphasis is placed on the applications and relative merits of the various methods for particular aspects of exploration, rather than on rigorous theoretical treatment. Practical work includes: laboratory exercises in the reduction, plotting and interpretation of geophysical data, followed by case history studies. Field data collection using several methods is undertaken during the field excursion. -- Course Website
