This unit gives students the opportunity to make a detailed study of two of the most famous works of Roman history (Annals and Twelve Caesars). Particular attention will be paid to the life and times of Tacitus and Suetonius, especially their relationships with contemporary literary figures as well as their depictions of the most important members of the Julio-Claudian and Flavian dynasties. -- Course Website
