This unit provides an introduction to the fundamental principles of finance and forms a gateway to more advanced studies in asset pricing, derivative securities, portfolio management and corporate finance. After completing this unit, students have foundation knowledge in investment valuation, risk and return, capital budgeting, corporate financial policy such as financing decisions and dividend policy, derivatives securities, and no-arbitrage valuation.
