This unit aims to equip students to undertake financial analysis; to develop an appreciation of the flow of financial accounting and other information to the equity market; and to understand the ways this information is used for valuation. Students develop an understanding of the theoretical and practical relations between financial statement items and share markets. They learn to apply the five steps of analysing an organisation: business and strategic analysis; accounting analysis; financial analysis; forecasting; and valuation.
