This course examines the planning and management of the wide range of possible sport facilities. The ways in which these facilities and the programs and events hosted in them are linked to the economic, social, and environmental planning of the regions that they serve are described. Requisite needs analysis techniques, and feasibility assessments are illustrated, including financial considerations. Strategic considerations in the operation and marketing of facilities are described, including competitive tendering, franchising, and merchandising.
