The main purpose of this course is to provide students with knowledge of the chemical principles and processes involved in environmental pollution. More specifically it will give students an understanding of the sources, fate and chemical behaviour of some of the most important classes of chemical pollutants. In addition, students will be introduced to the concepts of waste disposal and remediation. The laboratory component of the course aims to bring together both the sampling and the remote laboratory analysis aspects of environmental monitoring introduced in 2503ENV Environmental Monitoring Techniques and 2506ENV Analytical Chemistry.

Pre-requisite: 2503ENV Environmental... -- Course Website
