This course focuses on drama curriculum and pedagogy within the middle years of schooling. Students participating in this course will gain an understanding of the key syllabus documents that inform drama education at this level, as well as the current trends in education that have an impact upon drama in schools and the broader field of Arts Education. The developmental needs of middle years' learners and the socio-cultural context within which these learners operate will also be a focus. Students will be supported to develop appropriate assessment procedures and the skills to confidently plan and design drama lessons, unit plans and work programs.
