This course is concerned with the design and implementation of school subjects that reflect the nature of teaching history in secondary schools. In particular, it investigates the planning, teaching and assessment issues for history subjects in the senior secondary curriculum. 3062EDN provides opportunities for students to develop pedagogical skills as teachers of history and undertake critical and reflective analyses of topical debates about the discipline. This course also develops students' knowledge of relevant syllabus documents, school based work programs and the various curriculum materials which impact upon the teaching of history.
