The Infectious diseases course studies the basic physio-pathological aspects of the interaction between the most common pathogens and humans. It considers the basic aspects of the immune defence against pathogens as well as infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses and protozoa. It also covers the key aspects of therapeutical approaches against infectious. As a case study, it also includes a discussion on potential risks of using infectious agents in bio-warfare.
