This course will provide students with a sound theory and practical knowledge of haematology and, an understanding of the role of the haematology laboratory in patient care and management. Theory and practical sessions will cover basic theory and techniques involved in the laboratory investigation and understanding of anaemias, leukaemias, coagulation defects and blood transfusion. This course aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of basic haematological processes in conjunction with a level of practical competence that will enable the students to undertake professional experience in a haematology laboratory.
