The course will discuss chemical properties and the mechanisms of chemical change, with everyday examples from environmental science and medicine. The principles of chemical thermodynamics, organic chemistry, biological chemistry and chemical reactions and properties in solution will be reinforced by a laboratory program. Tutorial assignments will be used to develop problem solving skills.
