This course introduces the basic physical and chemical principles that underlie biological systems. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of selected chemistry and physics concepts, principles and theories, with some application to biological phenomena. The foundation provided in this course will allow students to be able to further develop their chemistry and physics knowledge and skills relevant to health and medical sciences in later years. Students will learn about how matter is classified and measured, atomic structure, bonding, biological molecules, chemical reactions, gases, energy, motion, and waves. There will be six laboratory sessions. -- Course Website
