This unit integrates knowledge understanding of construction developed in SRT151 Construction and Structures 1 and provides opportunity to further understanding of structural principles and construction methodologies applied to medium-rise commercial and industrial buildings through a systematic examination of their design and construction. Structural topics include: interdiction to permanent and temporary forces acting on structural elements and systems; principles governing election of structural systems; structural behaviour and adequacy of building components including formwork and scaffolding.
