This unit assesses the ability of architects and engineers to deliver built environments that meet client expectations of effective workplace design. Issues covered include indoor air quality, thermal comfort, ventilation, lighting and ergonomics both in terms of standards of service and impact on user productivity, health and satisfaction. Post occupancy evaluation is highlighted as a critical step in the delivery of successful facilities that meet organisational business goals. Techniques for the evaluation of social benefits arising from successful workplace design are also examined in the light of sustainable development objectives.Assessment -- Course Website
